We recently retired (Dec. 2011) and moved to Post Falls, Idaho. One of our children lives in Liberty Lake, Washington, a suburb of Spokane that borders Post Falls, Idaho. Retiring and moving out of state was both apprehensive and exciting.It was a bit of an ordeal to move in the winter and set up the RV and dealing with freezing temperatures, snow and a poorly insulated RV with freezing water lines!
After a few weeks in the RV we started to house hunt. We found a suitable place and had a fairly short escrow... the sooner the better! Three months in the RV was long enough! Perhaps if we had still been working and getting out of the RV for 8-10 hours each day it would have been different. Plus, our RV is a toy hauler with a garage so a good portion of what would normally be living space was used up for the garage.So consequently our 36' RV actually only has 24' of living space.
But we made it. We're here in our new house and enjoying Northern Idaho. We look forward to exploring our new area. It's been a change ... but a welcome one!
